Welcome to the Texas-Louisiana Carbon Management Community

In the United States, the Oligocene–Miocene storage fairway of the Gulf Coast of Texas and Louisiana hosts about 48 announced carbon capture and storage (CCS) projects. The University of Texas at Austin, Texas A&M University Kingsville, Texas A&M University Corpus Christi, University of Houston, Lamar University, and Louisiana State University host, and developed, the Texas-Louisiana Carbon Management Community (TXLA CMC) to support and share information about CCS developing in this region among diverse stakeholders.

Purpose & Membership

The purpose of TXLA CMC is to provide basic contact and networking information to the diverse community and proponents of the CCS ecosystem along the Gulf of Mexico, so that community members will be able to develop projects more effectively for this region. This community includes project developers, consultants, carbon dioxide emitters interested in carbon dioxide reduction via CCS, acreage owners and managers interested in leasing storage, suppliers, service providers, technical experts, information providers, and/or any entity who would like to list their CCS projects.

TXLA CMC membership is restricted to those with substantive interest in CCS in the Gulf Coast of the U.S.A.  This membership is moderated by the Gulf Coast Carbon Center at the Bureau of Economic Geology. The Bureau is part of the Jackson School of Geosciences at The University of Texas at Austin.  If interested, please contact Dr. Susan Hovorka or Angela Luciano.
